Investing in your Company stock fund

The Union Pacific Common Stock Fund has a trading deadline of 4 p.m., Eastern time. The trading deadline means that requests for distributions or fund exchanges from the Union Pacific Common Stock Fund received before 4 p.m., Eastern time, will be valued at the closing unit price of the fund for that day. Requests received after 4 p.m., Eastern time, will be valued at the closing unit price for the next business day.

Exchanges that increase your holdings in the Union Pacific Common Stock Fund to more than 20% of your Plan account balance will not be permitted. You also may not allocate more than 20% of your contributions to the Union Pacific Common Stock Fund.

Whenever you invest, there's a chance you could lose the money. The performance of a Company stock fund depends on the price of a single stock, which can move up or down dramatically. So this type of fund can be riskier than a stock mutual fund, which may own hundreds or thousands of stocks. Diversifying means having different types of investments. It doesn't guarantee you'll make a profit or that you won't lose money.

If you have questions about the Union Pacific Common Stock Fund, contact Vanguard at 800-523-1188 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Eastern time.
