Choose or change your beneficiary

It’s important to name a beneficiary for your account and update your information when necessary. Your beneficiary designation supersedes your will regarding the assets in your Plan account. If you don’t name a beneficiary, your savings could get distributed to an unintended heir.

If you didn’t choose a beneficiary when you joined the Plan or you want to change your beneficiary, you can quickly and securely update your information online. Simply log in to your account at vanguard.com/retirementplans.
